Jane received a Masters of Music from Southern Methodist University and a Bachelors of Music Education from Baylor University. She has performed with the Houston Grand Opera, Dallas Lyric Opera, New Jersey State Opera, El Paso Opera, Opera Northeast and Long Island Opera, performing the title roles of Carmen, Dalila, and leading roles such as Santuzza in Cavalleria Rusticana, Laura in La Gioconda, Charlotte in Werther, and Phoebe in Yoemen of the Guard. She also sang Mary Magdalene with Jerome Hines in his opera, I Am the Way, at the renowned Bolshoi Theater in Moscow. Additional roles include Tosca, Amelia from Un Ballo di Maschera, Lady Macbeth from Macbeth, Sieglinde from Die Walkure and Madeleine from Andrea Chenier.

As a leading soloist with the Houston Oratorio Society Mrs. Oehme's oratorio credits include solo roles in Bach's St. Matthew Passion, Pergolesi's Stabat Mater, Handel's Messiah, Beethoven's Mass in C, Vivaldi's Gloria, and Berlioz's L'enfance du Christ. She recently made her orchestra debut with the Atlanta Symphony in a gala concert of opera arias and symphonic works.

Prior to this she was no stranger to the musical theatre stage performing lead roles in King and I, Sound of Music, Godspell, Pajama Game, Camelot, and Perils on the Pecos opposite Donald O’Connor, creating the comic role of Savannah Sally. She was a regular at Dallas’ beloved Theatre Three, singing solo roles in original musical reviews of Porter, Warren and Gershwin.

Jane’s teaching experience includes public school music and college voice in Texas for 11 years. In addition to performing classical and sacred concerts, she currently teaches voice at Nyack College in New York, is involved in the worship and drama ministry of her local church.
